To improve efficiency and ease of cluster management, datacenter architects have started to explore disaggregated computing. Rather than deploying monolithic servers, each of which is a unit for management, datacenters deploy disaggregated, network-attached hardware components. The underlying datacenter architecture changes have big implications on software running atop. To take advantage of this new architecture, current datacenter infrastructure software must adapt. In this talk, I will present disaggregated datacenter architecture and discuss its implications on datacenter infrastructure software.
